Bright Property Maintenance

It doesn't have to cost the Earth

Not every job needs a tradesman

Many jobs inside and outside the home don't require a tradesman. A handyman can often do the same job for less.

When to use a Handyman

A tradesman is an expert in one particular trade. Some jobs, like wiring a home or adding a second toilet, can only be done by a qualified trades person. However replacing a broken light fitting or clearing a blocked sink can be done by a handyman and do not require a trades person. A handyman is skilled and experienced in multiple trades and costs less than a trades person.

Other stuff. . .

It's not just about fixing stuff. . . We do heaps of other things too!

There's all that flat-pack furniture with instructions written in "Chinglish" and blurry pictures that have to be read with a microscope.

Or the stuff that's "child's play to assemble" (if your child is a fitter and turner and trade qualified cabinet maker)!

Then there's the stuff your mate fixed that doesn't seem to look the same and never made those noises before!

Yes - We fix all that other stuff.

All sorts of stuff ...

Inside the home?

What can we do?
There's too much to list here. Give me a call, describe what's needed and I'll tell you if it needs a tradie or can be done by a handyman. It will save you heaps. We don't charge for quotes either!
In most cases if we can't do it we can refer you to a good tradie who can.

Outside?

From cleaning an overgrown section, water blasting a slimy driveway to clearing blocked gutters and down pipes. We do it all.
Then there's gates, fences, gardening and pruning.
We do all that too.

Reliable

I often hear customers saying that the last person they called, didn't show up. We do - every time.

Sometimes work takes longer than expected and it can be difficult to keep to times. If that happens, we'll ring ahead and let you know - but we'll always show up.

Affordable and Ethical

We understand money can be tight. We keep our prices as low as possible. Big jobs can be done on account where a customer can pay in instalments, to spread out the cost.
Unlike other businesses, when we buy materials, we show you the prices and don't mark them up, so trade discounts are passed directly on to you.

I love my work, dealing with a wide variety of Cantabrians, I hear all sorts of things - funny, s a d and some things that the public really should hear about, so I set up this blog .

In the beginning . .
About 6 years ago my employer franchised his business. Unless I wanted to pay $50,000 to buy back my job, I was unemployed.

Who's got fifty grand to flash around, especially on those wages?
Even if I had it (which of course I didn't!) was my job worth fifty grand cash?
After heaps of applications, I could only land a part time job for 15 hours a week. I was either too old or over qualified.
Undaunted, I scribbled a note on a card and put it up on the community notice board in the local supermarket.
That got me 3 replies which lead to 3 jobs. Those people were so pleased with my work, they referred me to others. Those others referred me to others, they knew and so on.
Today I have a full time business. I'm debt free. I don't even own a credit card.

Sometimes life gives us the kick in the bum we need.
